Generations: Epilogue

Dr. Emery Grayson has retired. At least from his position as Chief of Psychiatry at Jaspar General Hospital. He still retains a small private practice.

Then Judge Patrick Warner mentions the opening at Jaspar Lake Juvenile Facility. A new administrator is needed. A job Emery would have rejected off-hand only eight years ago. Now – he debates only a few days. Barely confers with his wife, Elizabeth. He wants to help those poor broken children.

Isaac Braun is one of those children. For some reason, Emery is especially drawn to the tall, green-eyed sixteen-year-old. Oscar and Nicole Braun divorced years ago. Four years ago, Nicole died and since then.  Isaac has basically lived on the street; his father not only ignores the boy but also his responsibility to him. At twelve, Isaac would hardly have been old enough to choose friends wisely. Or wise enough to attend school.

Elizabeth Grayson is surprised when Emery brings him into their home for a weekend visit. But she too is strangely drawn to the boy.

However, when their daughter-in-law, Samantha comes for a visit while he is there, she instantly understands their interest in Zack. He is a unique blend of his biological father and uncle.
